I did try to eat but I don't think all of what I ate came back up - I only had a couple of rich tea biscuits and dry cereal. They can put an I.V. in if needed for rehydration and help evaluate what is wrong. One could wait until hungry or a few hours whichever comes first and then try a sip of cool water.
