I may try: 1. swapping the left and right brake pads to see if it helps, by separating what I thought is the imperfect brake pad from the imperfect side of rim. 2. sandpaper rim.

Had this happen before and had to readjust to get it to stop. But always comes back and takes a few times to get rid of the noise. Got new drums and new shoes.

Trying to keep this short but want to explain the issue. I had the TRD BBK, which worked fine for about 2 years. Apparently the slight squeeze of the brake lever changes the geometry of the mechanism so that the spring is contacting the rotor continuously rather than intermittently, and thus the click goes away. shoelaces for high tops
