I bought the factory fit kit for the electrics as both cars I have are fitted with a can bus systems for the electrics and the trailer warning system does not work correctly if the sockets are scotch locked into the exsiting lighting system . Web16 Dec 2005 · The connections to the Headlamp wires can be done in whichever way you prefer, either soldered or scotch-locked, only one scotch-lock is supplied with the 'Ring' set so if you wish to use this way then you need another one for the other headlamp wire connection.
