I completely agree with you that no gun is safe. But I also believe that a grip safety might help make it a tiny bit safer.

No one is going to accidentally stick a finger where they're not supposed to and pull the trigger. And the second key component is high-retention. WebHigh stress situations it may cause you to not flip that safety off. If you are buying it for home defense. A safety is a more reasonable option, 3xpecally if you are keeping it in a drawer. But again something that more training and a little bit safer storage (ie. A quality holster) makes irrelevant.
WebMay 7, 2009 · Regardless of Colt's vendor choice for grip safeties, the Caspian "dorsal fin" unit is--beyond any doubt--the best grip safety for those who shoot with a high thumb (as God and Cooper intended) and who have trouble reliably depressing a stock grip safety.
